Intertextuality is the process of creating references to any kind of media text via another media text.

In the case of music videos directors make reference to intertextuality when there is a type of link to another media text, this could be another music video or TV content. In the recent years this has been done by many artists in order of increasing popularity, there is a clear example of this in the reggaeton industry by J Balvin music videos of "Agua" and "Ten cuidado" making reference to Spongebob and Pokemon. In my case I won't use any type of intertextual references to any type of film, book or serie, although J Balvin has used it in the past this is not very normal to see on Reggaeton music videos.
