Representatiton In Music Videos

Representation in media how media texts deal with and present gender, age, ethnicity, social issues and events to an audience. Media representation has an important impact on the way the audience receives the message.

Conventional representation (stereotypes)

Throughout my music video I will use the typical white spanish teens, Dominican Republic adult and British adult. My two main characters will be two teenage white boys that will represent Sebastian Yatra and Myke Towers. Since the first moment, I already had a friend which came to my mind which reunited the characteristics I was looking for, I decided to continue with the stereotypes and make him as Myke Towers

I also had the idea of casting for actresses as this a typical convention on reggaeton music videos. This will help me on the structure of my music video having more actors and making the music video more dynamic with a lot of scenes. I will represent the woman as being a desire for men making reference to the Mulvey Theory.

However, as I am creating this post at an early stage, there is a probability of having a change in plans and the actors might switch roles as I am still analyzing all the possible outcomes.
